For students accepted
into the program, the following outline of events and deadlines
will apply:
End of Fall:
■
Register for Science and Technology Policy
for Interns for the spring semester.
Spring:
■
Interns take Science and Technology Policy for Interns. The course covers the history
and structure of the government,
science and technology policy, policy analysis, writing, public speaking and strategies for
successful internships.
■
Possible individual visits to offices.
Summer (10 Weeks in May-August*):
■
Work on science and technology policy in placement office.
■
Write research paper and personal experience paper.
■
Live in shared dormitory rooms.
■
Attend speaker series and participate in social activities.
■
Be visited in office by program
director.
■
Enjoy te sights and sounds of your city.
■
Present you research in a symposium.
■
Attend a final banquet.
■
Become a member of the Policy Internship Program Alumni Network.
*Exact start and end dates will be announced in the spring
semester, when the droms announce the weeks they will be open.
Typically, the internship runs from the last week of May through
the first week of August.
Fall and After:

Meet with potential interns.
■
Make presentations on internship experience.
■
Begin a lifetime of ties with office colleagues, program
alumni, and the program.
